Yankees & Rebels is a 2 player modular wargame, capable simulating the major battles of the American Civil War. The primary scenario included with the game is called "The Three Days of Gettysburg". The game is played on a hexagonal board, onto which cardboard hexes are placed, to simulate the layout of different battlefields. Playing pieces (military units) are represented by stand-up cardboard markers; with images on the reverse (facing the opponent) and schematic information on front (facing the owner). Unit strengths are tracked through the use of plastic chips. Specially marked dice are used to resolve combat.
Yankees & Rebels is a 2 players game
in the "Histo Command Dice" series
that allows you to recreate the most important battles
of the American Civil War at a "grand tactical" level.
The box includes all that you need to recreate
"the 3 days of Gettysburg".
(front printed map and specific units).
In addition two more counter sheets are available.
Additionally using the terrain hexes in conjunction with the clear map
on the back of the Gettysburg map
it is possible to create almost all Civil War battlefields.
Game review:
An inedited game system with
random corps activation, special dice for ordering units and combat.
The stand-up units moreover, can rallying and react
firing to units moved adjacent according to their training:
Conscripts, Veterans or Elite.
Only 2 pages of rules.
